What did Jesus mean when He promised His disciples “another Helper”?

In this episode of The Isaiah 43 Podcast, we continue our journey through the Gospel of John and explore one of the most comforting promises Jesus ever gave His people: the promise of the Holy Spirit.

Last week, Jesus told His disciples, “If you love me, you will keep my commandments.” But how can sinful, weak people possibly live in faithful obedience to Christ?

Jesus gives the answer immediately: You are not alone.

In John 14:16–17, Jesus promises that the Father will give His people “another Helper”—the Holy Spirit, the Spirit of truth, who will dwell with believers and be in them forever.
